Drinking is good!

Everyone has had an drink right. However some people take it to0 far and start drinking ever day. Its like a buzz for some people. When coming to university I soon found myself drinking more that I would if I was at home. I think the reason for this is because going out drinking is a way of making friends, having stories to tell when going back home. Also I think its a way of telling people that you are having a good time when your not at home. There is a kind of peer pressure to go out and get really drunk so that you can't remember anything about the night before. However there is a problem with going out all the time, you can found yourself becoming depending on alcohol to get yourself through the day.

Here is an article about a lad that when to uni and found himself needing a drink everyday:

Another problem with drinking a lot, is when people get in front of a wheel. Not just for the person behind the wheel but if that person crashes and kills someone than it will cause a lot of pain for both parties involved. Think of the family that have lost a child because of someones silly decsion to get in front of a wheel.

Here is a video of how us brits are trying to crack down on drink driving:

Here are a few tips when going out drinking:

Make sure you eat before you start drinking.
Don't be pressured into drinking too much.
Don't be forced into drinking too quickly.
Don't mix your drinks. Mixing drinks can make you more drunk than if you stick to one type of drink.
Make sure you know how you're getting home before you leave the pub.
To avoid someone spiking your drink, don't leave it unattended and don't accept drinks from strangers.

I'm not saying DON'T DRINk! I'm saying be responsible for what you do and look after each other when going out and don't even think about getting behind the wheel. Alot of lifes can be affected by one that one decision to drink and drive!

  1. I think that if people want to drink they should drink freely and the factors of peer pressure and having this ideology that you have fun when you get bladdered out your face is wrong, you tend to lose values and people do not have any awareness of responsibility and then leading to accidents caused by people drink and drive without thinking about the consequences
