I'm the same with drinking i know when i have had enough... Young children tend to drink because of peer pressure. I know I did.. I think no one can control have much there drink... we always think we know when enough is enough but not all the time..
I always think when people litter, do there litter in their own home? No, so why do it in the street. Every where you go now a days, their is litter. As for the enviroment, what are people going to do in 10 years time blame others and not themselves. Littering is bad and can have lasting affect not just today but in the future..

Wearing Fur

Is wearing fur bad? What is fur? Fur is one of the oldest form of clothing. Well fur is leather with hair retained for its insulation properties. Animal fur is uesd in garments and trim. Fur can be dyed in to bright colours or to mimic exotic and animal patterns. The most common animal used is fox, rabbit, mink, seals, cats and even dogs. However seal products were banned in U.S in 1972 over concerns about Canadian seals. Also cats and dogs were banned under protection act in 2000. I think this is fair to both the animals. I think every animal should be under this act as its not fair on them to be killed for their fur.

Many people believe that fur is wrong and not fair but why do people wear fur? Fur will keep you warm in the winter, fur lasts forever, many people believe that by buying fur you are supporting thousands of people living on the land and that fur can be worn on all occasions.

Why people will not wear fur: some believe that if you wear fur, you are supporting a horrible and gruson industry, letting the animals live in poor condition, fur farming are often of a very poor quality and that some of the fur is from animals catch in a trap.

I'm not sure what I think of people wearing fur. I can see why people have a problem with it. But if the animals are already dead, why can't their fur be used. Also I think it can be nasty on the animals, if they are still alive and they can feel it. Why do people not think of the animals. In the UK, if an animal gets hurt companies like the RSPCA will stop it and I think why are they not doing this for people who kill for fur. The way the animals are kept on the farm it really horrible. Many people protest about the way the animals are kept and people wearing fur. I remember people throwing red paint on people wearing fur.

Their is a chairy that works to stop the animals getting hurt and to make sure that the animals have some kind of rights in the way there are treated. The PETA work with celebrities and others to help protect the animals. I think these chairties are really good and do help the animals. But I think there should be more done to help these animals.

Celebrities being bad

Everyone behaves bad even celebrities. There are many celebrities that miss behave, here are a few names: Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan, Khole Kardashian, Hugh Grant, Lil Wayne and Nicole Richie. Now I always believe that celebrities would behave themselves, with them being in the public eye and all. A lot of the behaviour is taking drugs, drink driving and smashing cars (Britney Spears). At the moment Lil Wayne has gone to prison for weapon possession. He has got a year in prison. Not a lot of celebrities get that long. Paris Hilton was give 45 days in prison but only spend 3 full days and was placed on a electronic tag . The reason for this was becasue of good behaviour. Well if she was so good why did she do the crime? I think a lot of the time they are honest mistakes but there are pushed in the public eye because we love to see them cock it all up.

One thing that I always find funny is that celebrities do these things and expect to get away with it because they are in the public eye. A lot of the time they do and that not fair on everyday people. If we did what some of them do we would go to prison for longer than 45 days. I think some of the reason could be for that celebrities to get in press.

Celebrities are not that bad it just, I would of thought that there would want to behave as young children look up to them. How can there be good role model if there are going to prision or take drugs it makes not sense to anyone.

Body Modification

Body modification is the deliberate altering of the human body. There are any different reasons why people would have a non-medical altering, such as sexual enhancement, aesthetic reason, trust and even loyalty. Body modification can either be socially acceptable to the religiously mandated. Body piercing, ear piercing, breast implants, silicone injection, hair removal and tongue splitting are all kinds of body modification. There are many long term body modification like corsetry, breast ironing and cranial binding which is very rare.
There are many celebrities who have taken body modification too far: Pete Burns, Jordon aka Katie Price and Michael Jackson. However there are also some non-celebrities who have taken body modification too far: Elaine Davidson "the most pierced women" Cindy Jackson "has had the most plastic surgery" and Katzen "catwomen"

I think everyone is aloud to do what there want to their body. It can improve someones self-esstem and make them feel good about themselves. However i think some people can take it too far like the "catwomen" she has fangs and has a tattoo all over her body I think its just weird thats all. I understand that people want to look different but that is taking it too far in my eyes. Plastic surgery is something that I would have done and the reason for this is because I think it can improve peoples lifes. But people can take it too far like Michael Jackson.

Tattoos

A lot of people have tattoos. I think some tattos look nice however I think some people have tattoos just to have them. In the UK, you have to be 18 to get one. A tattoo is a marking made by inserting indelible ink into the dermis layer of the skin to change the pigment for decorative or othere reasons. There are many different purposes for having a tattoo: decorative and spiritual uses, identification, cosmetic and medical. Tattoos on humans is a type of decorative body modification. You can get a tattoo on your arms, legs, ankles and even on your buttocks.

I don't think tattoos are a bad thing. I think some people take it too far. There is a man that has a skull tattoo on his face and a man that has glasses tattoo on his face. Which I think is silly, are these people going to wake up one day and go... what the
fuck have i done??
There are many television shows about people having tattoos and i think it highlights that a lot of people are having tattoos. To be fair, I would love a tattoo but I'm scared that it will hurt and I can't handle pain very well. My friends have told me that it doesn't hurt so what it stopping me??

Abortions

Everyone should be aloud to do what they want to do to their body. An abortions is the termination of a pregancy. There are many reasons why people have abortions: not wanting the pregancy, mental/physical well-being and can be to help the life of the women who is pregancy. An abortions can happen at 12 weeks up to 24 weeks.

People around the world believe that abortions are wrong and there has been a lot of debates about the rights or wrongs in a lot of cases. Many activists believe that they are ethical, moral and biological issues towards abortions. There are even debates about making it illegal to have an abortions. In the UK, there is an abortions act 1967. The act states that all abortion should be carried out in a hospital or licensed clinic.

To me, there is nothing wrong with having an abortions everyone has the right to have one. Many women get pregancy by accident and sometime can be the hardest decision one women had to make. I think women have the right but I also think men have to have a say in the descision. The reason for this is because it takes two to have sex and it should take two to make the descisions about whether to keep the baby or not.

Gambling

"In gambling, the many must lose in order that the few may win" George Benard Shaw.
Gambling is the wagering of money. There are many different types of gambling: Casino games, Table games, slot machine and Bingo. There are other forms of gambling: Betting on horse, greyhounds and even betting on sport. I can see why people get a gambling problem. When looking on the internet, there are a lot of gambling websites. Also on televisions, there are many adverts, telling people offers i.e pay £10 and get £10 free play. There are even gambling tips on the internet. This is wrong as it is telling people that it is fine to keep gambling and spending money on these games. When someone gets a gambling problem, it is always their fault but why is not companies not taking some of the blame? I think companies should take some responsible on the way that they advert the offers. I can see why people who get attrated to gambling, the buzz of winning and making more money. I think if someone was going to get a gambling problem it would ruin a family and make them have no money. Some people can be declared bankruptcy Here is a website that helps people stop gambling:
http://www.wanttostopgambling.com/

There is a gambling commission in the UK, that regulate commercial gambling in Great Britain. http://www.gamblingcommission.gov.uk/

Bandits and Outlaws

Bandits and Outlaws can be called gangsters, crooks, gunslingers and desperados. An outlaw or bandits is a person living the lifestyle of outlawry; the word literally means "outside the law" In English common law, an outlaw was a person who had defied the laws of the realm, by such acts as ignoring a summons to court, or fleeing instead of appearing to plead when charged with a crime. Outlaws have become fictional characters. There has been a few movies about outlaws, the ones I know about are Jesse James and Robin Hood.

Robin hood:
He is a heroic outlaw in English folklane. A highly skilled archer and swords man, he was always know as the man wh0 robbed from the rich to give to the poor. He worked with a group of outlaws known to him as the "Merry Men"

Jesse James:
He was a modren day Robin Hood because it was said that he robbed from the rich to give to the poor however people described him as a kind man, a dapper dresser and a prankish charmer but he was also called a cold-blooded murderer, robber, horse thief, racist and a terrorist. He and his gang were very dangerous men.

Are these people right? Yes and No if these people are helping the poor and giving them money to basically live then they are good people but when they are taking from the rich and killing people like Jesse James i think it is wrong!! How are they helping others by taking from them? I understand why there do it but is it fair to kill people over money? No.

Swearing

Swearing is a common thing in the UK. I swear, my sisters swear and both my parents swear. Some people think swearing is insulting and rude. Swearing can easily become a habit and generally a bad habit. On average we swear 80-90 words each day, so how can people think it is rude and insulting?? Many people swear when they have hurt thenselves to help with the pain. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/science/science-news/5803300/Swearing-can-reduce-the-feeling-of-pain.html

I think this newspaper is right many people swear when having hurt themselves. I do, my mum and dad do so. You must pick up the habit of swearing from someone?
Walter Bagehot states "The greatest pleasure in life is doing what people say you can't do" I know swearing is wrong and I know I shouldn't do it but I do. I think the reason I swear is because it's a way of saying something with something added on the end. The reason a lot of people swear is becuse of the attention that there get from swearing. I still get told off for swearing whether it is at my sister or even my parents. The funny thing about this is my mum or dad normally swear when telling me off. Swearing is something I picked up from my mum and dad. I think children swear to get attention, to prove independence and to gain peer acceptances. I think children that swear are bad but the question is where do children get the bad language from?

Now when famous people swear it is big news so when people swear on radio it is going to get complaint from listens. Here is a story in a national newspaper about a radio presenter swearing on air.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/tvandradio/7545091/Nicky-Campbell-shocks-Radio-5-Live-listeners-by-swearing.html

I love swearing and I think as i have gone to university I am swearing more and more everday. I think it is a way to say what I think and to say what I feel. So I'm not going to stop swearing it's just when i go home I will not swear as much as I normally would at university. Here is a video of Stephen fry saying why he loves swearing:

Stalking

Stalking is unwanted attention by individuals or even by a group of people..It seems to have been first applied to the harassment of celebrities by strangers who were described as being obsessed. Stalking can be defined as the willful and repeated following, watching, and/or harassing of another person. Most of the time, the purpose of stalking is to attempt to force a relationship with someone who is unwilling or otherwise unavailable. Unlike other crimes, which usually involve one act, stalking is a series of actions that occur over a period of time.
When celebrities get stalked it is because the celebrities states where they live and where there are going to be in the day. We know a lot of things about celebrities, its just that some people turn that into something else. People like Brad Pitt, Steven Spielberg and Gwyneth Paltrow. I'm sorry but celebrities must expect something from fans or "crazy people" as some people put it. If they didn't put their lives in the media all the time maybe they would not get any stalkers
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/1158559.stm

There is a story on a television show called Emmerdale. This women is stalking a married man and she is taking pictures, raping him and even making his wife distrust him. This is very interesting, the reason for this is because it shows that everyday people can get stalked as well. A lot of time we only think of celebrities getting stalked but it just shows that everyday people can get stalked. To me it is weird- why would you want to stalk someone? Phoning, texting and even writing letters to someone on a daily basic is not right... I can see why people can go to prision. Here is a story about a women that got stalked in the UK:

Underage sex

Underage sex is something many people do. Underage sex is having sex under the age of 16. The laws for underage sex are very confusing; I mean if a girl between the ages of 13-15 has sex with an older guy, the guy could get 2 years in prison. I think that the way the law is dealing with this "crime" is silly. I mean if a girl younger than 16 thinks she is mature enough to have sex than what is the problem? I know many parents think children need to be ready but if people are in a loving relationship.. I don't agree with one night stand and people who are younger than 16 it is wrong.. how can people lose something that means a lot to the person. I think people should go to prison if the girl is really young but not if the girl is 14-15.....
http://www.avert.org/teens-sex-law.htm

I have read stories about children under the age of 16 having a baby and I think to have a baby underaged is wrong.. Should a girl or boy think they are old enough to be doing it, than they should be old enough to know they have to use a condom or any other kind of protection. There was a story in the paper last year about a 13 year old lad who got his 15 year old girlfriend pregtant and it turned out not be his but her 15 year old ex-boyfriend.

I remember my mum and dad swearing so I think a lot of people get it from others. I'm 19 and my mum still tells me off for swearing!! I think some people don't mind swearing where as others do. There is nothing wrong with searing. As silly as it sound but I would never swear in found of my nan...... just something that I would never do.

writing on blogs 2!!

I think that vandalism looks good and its just children way of doing art!! I think if some tell them not to do it would make them do it even more!! I like the design and the colours of the graffiti I can see why people hate it but i like it!! It brights up my day!! :D :D

I think plastic surgery is good for people who are having a confident issues!! But there are some people that take it too far.... take Micheal Jackson he changed his whole look for no reason!! Jordan... she has had a lot of boob jobs for no reason, she would look fine without them!! People need to look in the mirror and know when to stop having soo much surgery!!

Commenting on blogs 2

If a girl as young as 13 feels that she is ready for sex who are we to judge! As for the story of the 13 year old "dad", that was sooo wrong as the kid looked about 7! And he was not even the dad! It just shows how wrong it can get for young children. It was worse for the parents of the young lad, how who you feel if ur child was having sex let alone have a baby.

Drugs

Drugs... are always going to be one of those topic that everyone has something to say about. There are lots of drugs out there. The government have tried to stop people using or selling drugs. There are three class of drugs: class A,B and C. These classes carry different penalties for possession and dealing. In the UK, there are laws about drugs, but this doesn't stop people. In the last decade, the number of people taking drugs has been around 18%.

I know a few people who take drugs on a day to day basis. I have nothing against people smoking or taking drugs! The only problem I have is when people who earn no money, live on benefits and buy drugs with that money. Also I hate how people pressure people into trying drugs. It's not fair on people who have made the decision not to take drugs!

This is a you tube video about how drugs can mess with your looks:

Infidelity

Infidelity happens everyday. Having affairs with other people when in a loving relationship. But we should look into the reasons why people cheat on others. How can you be in a loving relationship with someone who cheats on you? Many women take back men who cheat. Take Cheryl Cole in 2007, she took cheating Ashley Cole back only for him to do it again in 2010. Many women say ones a cheater always a cheater. But why do women like Cheryl Cole take these men back. For love...For money...

This is just an explain of a man cheating on a women, women can the same thing to men. As I'm writing this Mark Owen (Take that) has come out with cheating on his then girlfriend 10 times.... In the press men are normally pick up on their cheating. Why?? Women cheat too, Is it the fact that we might expected it from men not women?

I think men and women that cheat on a boyfriend and wifes are not in love with each other. I always think that if you take someone back after a "little affair" it will come back to bite you right the arse. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe if someone cheats they may never do it again but there is always that risk or dealt. How can you have a relationship with someone if there is no trust.... You are always going to be wondering where he or she is.. what they are doing.... why are they not home yet??

Shoplifting

Shoplifting is bad. I remember as a child taking sweets from the local supermarket the pick and mix. Many people who shop lift do it to gain more money!! Shop lifting happens more than people think. There are different types of shop lift amateur or professional. However a shoplifter can be any race, gender, age, social and economic background. There are a number of reason why someone would shoplift: no money for the things they want, greed, because it was easy the first time so I'll keep doing it, need money for drugs, someone can class this as their job and people think there will not get caught so I'll carry on.

Getting caught shoplifing can have bad effects on the family of the shoplifter. However if it is just a one time thing the person it likly to get a cauious. However if it is a long term thing, police could become involved which could have bad effects on the whole family. You could get a criminal record, get sent to prison and have a bad name for yourself. Other people that it could have a affect on is: the store owner and their family, workers at the store and yourself.

Shoplifting has been in the news a hell of a lot as we are in the middle of a recession. 20% more items beind stolen then ever before. With clothes being the highest item sloten form shops. Company are lossing an average £1,595.66 per ncident in the UK.

Kids movie (1995)

Kids has been controversial. The film includes explicit sexual dialogue, and depicts scenes of date rape, physical violence, drug dealing, theft, seduction of barely post-pubescent minors, and (non-explicit) teenage sexual displays, as well as (apparently) adolescent actors/actresses in near but not quite explicit exposure.

When we were talking about the film kids, I was sitting there thinking what the hell are we going to watch! When the movie was describe to us, it was not a movie that I would watch. I mean the basic outline is about a young boy that like de-flowering young girls.

When the film started, on the screen was a boy and a girl making out. Next thing we know he is trying to de-flower her and it got me thinking. It this what all boys do? Tell the girls a pack of lie just to get laid. As we got more into the film, I started to think. A lot of what was happening in the film happens every day in the UK.

The film had 5 different producation company produce these film and this was so that there was enough money to even make this film. Even with the film receiving mixed reviews on the film it grossed $7.4 million. I like the film and I can understand why it had a hard time. I think if it was released now, it would be easier to produce and it would make more at the box office. The reason for this is because it would not shock people as we have seen worse. I'm sure we have.

Drinking is good!

Everyone has had an drink right. However some people take it to0 far and start drinking ever day. Its like a buzz for some people. When coming to university I soon found myself drinking more that I would if I was at home. I think the reason for this is because going out drinking is a way of making friends, having stories to tell when going back home. Also I think its a way of telling people that you are having a good time when your not at home. There is a kind of peer pressure to go out and get really drunk so that you can't remember anything about the night before. However there is a problem with going out all the time, you can found yourself becoming depending on alcohol to get yourself through the day.

Here is an article about a lad that when to uni and found himself needing a drink everyday:

http://www.netdoctor.co.uk/ate/smokingalcoholdrugs/205278.html

Another problem with drinking a lot, is when people get in front of a wheel. Not just for the person behind the wheel but if that person crashes and kills someone than it will cause a lot of pain for both parties involved. Think of the family that have lost a child because of someones silly decsion to get in front of a wheel.

Here is a video of how us brits are trying to crack down on drink driving:

Here are a few tips when going out drinking:

Make sure you eat before you start drinking.
Don't be pressured into drinking too much.
Don't be forced into drinking too quickly.
Don't mix your drinks. Mixing drinks can make you more drunk than if you stick to one type of drink.
Make sure you know how you're getting home before you leave the pub.
To avoid someone spiking your drink, don't leave it unattended and don't accept drinks from strangers.

I'm not saying DON'T DRINk! I'm saying be responsible for what you do and look after each other when going out and don't even think about getting behind the wheel. Alot of lifes can be affected by one that one decision to drink and drive!

All about bullying

Bullying is something that happens everyday. Its not right and in a lot of cases it just name calling. The problem with name calling is that it can be harmless fun but to the person/ people they are calling, it can have a lasting effects. I remember when I was at school, children were bullied for not having the right kind of clothes, looking different ie being fat etc. I think people bully others becuse something is going wrong in their lives and to deal with their probelms they bully others. They think it makes them look good! There are many different ways to deal with bullying and in extreme cases some children kill themselves. To me I think its really hard to talk to an adult whether its a parent or a teacher. Many children believe that if a teacher is told it will get worse.

Bullying is a form of abuse. It is an act that involves people who are powerful abusing a person of a group of less powerful people. A lot of the time there is an imbalance of either social power or and physcial power. A lot of the time the victim is known as a target. There are three types of abuse emotional, verbal and physical. Bullying can happen at school, in the work place and even in the home.

Here is more information about bullying:

Smoking

Smoking is bad for everyone, even people who don't smoke, can still be damaged by cigarettes because of passive smoking. A lot of people don't realise the damage that they are doing to others. We have many articles about the damage but when do we listen to what people say? I mean a lot of people don't even listen to their parents. How can a big company that sell smoking materials get through to people even when pictures are put on to the packets of cigarettes. I think cigarette companies are hypocrites, I mean how can a company that make cigarettes tell someone the dangour of smoking them.

I have nothing wrong with people smoking. However when the smoke is blown in to my face, it makes me wonder how would that person feel if i blow a horrible smell in their face. I remember when my dad use to smoke and you would come in from school to a nasty smoke fulled room and all the net curtain turning a light yellow colour. Its not nice or fair on anyone.

Smoking for a long time can have affect on the person health. You are 10 times more likely to get Lung cancer if you smoke. All the major organs of your body are put under increased pressure by your habit. However anyone who smokes is allowed to do what there when to their body. So who are others to tell us what to do.

There are many get company trying to get people to stop smoking: http://smokefree.nhs.uk/ This is an NHS compain to get people to stop smoking.

This is a company that looks smoking ads:

http://www.toxel.com/inspiration/2009/10/08/17-creative-anti-smoking-ads/

This is very intesting as this company looks at everything to do with smoking and even looks a passive smoking.

Commenting on others blog!!

I can see where you are coming from! When anyone starts using drugs it can affect not just the actual person but family and friends. There is a lot more that could be said about using drugs but I like the way you have started!! :D

masterbuation

I thought this lecture was really intesting!! Not in the way many people would think. I think it is funny when people tell young children that if they do masterbate, it would fall off and hairs would appear on the palm of the hand. How are children going to learn anything from this message? To me children will only stop for a while then would discover it again. If we tell children that its bad, we are sending a bad image to them. Surely we are being hypocrites, if we are telling children not to do something that we have done during our lifes. 90% of us masturbation so why should we gave children the message thats its wrong to do it?

I think history has something to do with the way we look at masterburation. It was always seen as a bad thing to do let alone talk about it. History has shaped our attuide to this activity. If we had not be throughout history that this masturbation is wrong and that it was a good thing to do. I think we would maybe talk more about it.

In the lecture, people were stating what the other names are for masterbuation. It got me thinking the reason why boys have so many names for the activity. I think this is because boys will be more open and honest about masterbuation while the girls are a lot less open about it and wouldn't not share this information. All the stories that I have ever be told about masterbuation has come from boys that I went to school with, which consits of them telling each other when and how many times they have done it on a day to day basis's. Girls are less likely to talk on the subject, however i'm not saying we don't do it but we just don't openly talk about it! A lot of men masterbate names can be very violence names like pull the monkey where as female names are more playful and softer.

Here is a video of a father embrassement to talk to his son about masturbation:

Lying

Benjamin Franklin stated-"Half the truth is often a great lie." If this is true do we lie everyday or just once in a while? I think we lie everyday, even if it just a small lie. I think we lie to make friends, keep friends and even lie to our parents. Even I have done it!! Everyone lies but at what extent do we lie and why do we lie??

Lying can become out of control, some people become serious liars. If this happen it can have horrible consequences for the people involved and even people who know that person. Whether its lying about who u are to lying about the kind of money we have. The problem with lying about who you are is you start becoming that person and if you lie about money, you will have to started spending that money! Which in many case you just don't have.

The artcial here is about lying and why we lie:
http://www.livescience.com/health/060515_why_lie.html

The professor that looked at lying stated that we lie to boost our self-esteem!

"We find that as soon as people begin to feel that their self-esteem is threatened, they immediately begin to lie at higher levels." If this is true, when ever we feel people are threating us wheather it is to do with the kind of gadges they have, do we lie and say we have this and that. To me there must be different ways to boost our self-essteam other then lying.

This video is about how we lie and why we lie:

Prostitution

This book has been turned into a television show highlighting that people are still selling there body and going into greater detail about their sex lifes! I think this book has made prostitutes become more socially acceptable because if people know more about the issue we become more acceptable towards the issue of prostitution. I also think that tv shows, books etc make prostitution seem more glamourous!

Well everyone has to earn a living some how . Everyone has different reason as to why they turn to prostitution. These reasons could include- some sort of income to support young children or family, husband that don't work and even to fund a drug or alcohol problem. I'm not saying it is the right thing to do but who are we to judge? I think everyone needs to look at why these people have to turn to selling their body to make cash!! Some might say there are different ways to earn money but for some this is the only way.

When looking up the history of what a prostitute is there are varies views on the topic. One article suggest that in 6th century, there were three types of prostitution where as in one articles it states that prostitute was banned due to christian ideology. Something that make me laugh was that in them times, the women would get punished for selling sex not the men. Now to me it takes two to have sex and to pay and accept money for it! In 1956, there was an act put in place to prohibit people from running a brothel or soliciting, of course this never stopped people.

This is a joke video that put up on youtube about how not to fall in the traps of becoming a prostitute:

I thought this was very funny and it does make a joke about prostitution. However morally is this right?
To me no matter what anyone says or does to try and stop prostitutes, they are still going to be selling their body and as long as people are still willing to pay for it, than it isn't going to stop.
